Admission Criteria

Our doors are open to passionate individuals ready to soar. Here are the only requirements:

  • Age: students should be over 18 years of age.
  • Educational Qualifications: a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Certifications

Graduate with a certificate showing completion of a dental assisting program, taking the first steps in a career in dental assisting. Along with your Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. At Haas Dental Assistant Academy, we prepare students to confidently pass the DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam, a key step toward earning the Certified Dental Assistant™ (CDA®) or National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA®) credential. Our program ensures students master essential skills in dental radiography, radiation safety, digital radiography, and infection control. With a focus on today's digital radiography practices, passing the RHS demonstrates your competence and readiness to succeed in modern dental offices, giving our graduates a strong edge in their careers.

Dental Assisting Course Outline

WEEK 01

WEEK 02

Learn how common dental hand instruments are identified, organized, and used to support safe and efficient patient care and discover how accurate record keeping, patient confidentiality, and clinical documentation help protect both patients and dental professionals.

WEEK 03

Discover the science, artistry, and anatomy behind modern dentistry through the study of impression materials, restorative and esthetic procedures, and the structures of the head and neck.

WEEK 04

Discover how examinations, diagnostic tools, and clinical findings come together to guide informed dental treatment planning. Later build practical skills using Eaglesoft to manage patient information, document care, and support efficient dental-office operations.

WEEK 05

Learn the principles of dental radiography, including tubehead components, image acquisition, radiation safety, and techniques used to produce diagnostic dental images.

WEEK 06

Discover how modern dentistry restores and preserves oral health through restorative procedures, fixed prosthetics, implant therapy, and the identification of oral diseases and abnormalities.

WEEK 07

Explore the essential skills of modern dental assisting through pediatric dentistry, coronal polishing, sealants, vital signs assessment, and medical emergency response.

WEEK 08

From protecting tooth structure during restorative procedures to documenting clinical outcomes through photography, explore the techniques and technologies that enhance modern dental practice.

WEEK 09

Dr. Jim Haas has always loved working with children, so his decision to become a pediatric dentist was a natural choice. After more than 20 years in private practice, Dr. Jim is grateful that he has been fortunate enough to work in a field that he thoroughly enjoys.

Kendra Malone, CDA, COA, EFDA

Kendra Malone, CDA, COA, EFDA

Instructor

Kendra Malone graduated from Middlesex Community College in 2017 with an associate degree in Dental Assisting and earned her DANB certification (CDA) upon graduation. She also holds a Certified Orthodontic Assistant credential and later advanced her career by achieving her Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) certification.
